The Honda P-NUT at the LA Motor Show
This is another of those ‘Lets see what we can make’ type concepts with probably precious little chance of being made. But the Honda ‘Personal-Neo Urban Transport’ – or Honda P-NUT – does make for an interesting micro city car concept. The P-NUT is a three-seat (which sounds great in principle, but all 3-seat cars – McLaren F1 included – are a pain for the driver to get in and out) concept with masses of angular lines and glass, designed to be offered with one of three powertrains – a petrol, petrol-electric hybrid or pure EV.
BMW has revealed its new i8 petrol-electric range-extender supercar will cost from £99,895 – and dealers are already taking pre-orders for the 155mph, 113mpg coupe. The high-performance i8 will be the second BMW i car to go on sale, following the launch of the i3 electric city car which goes on sale in BMW dealers this weekend. The 1.0 litre Ecoboost engine arrives in the 2012 Ford Focus
Ford has announced that the new Focus is now available with the 1.0 litre Ecoboost 3-cylinder engine in 100 PS and 125 PS options. Back in September, Ford revealed that it planned to install its new pocket-sized engine – the new 3-cylinder 1.0 litre Ecoboost – in to the new Ford Focus, giving the Focus the power of a naturally aspirated 1.6 litre petrol, but with improved economy and lower emissions. And now it’s arrived.
